Richard Anuszkiewicz was a prominent figure in the Op Art modern art movement. His early art work was a rejection against the modern art movement of Abstract Expressionism. He opted for figurative styles in his art work which went against the grain as the rest of the art community and spectators were wrapped up in the hype of Abstract Expressionism. As a result of his rejection to the modern art movement of Abstract Expressionism he received almost no recognition for his art work.
He moved into the ideologies of Op Art and started gaining recognition from a curious spectatorship. His modern art style of Juxtaposing geometric shapes, dots and lines was a success amongst onlookers.
