Glasgow Art Fair, Scotlands National Art Fair – dates announced

8th July 2008

This hugely popular event returns for its 14th year, attracting over 16,500 buyers, sellers and art enthusiasts into the trademark white pavilions in Glasgow’s George Square.

Recognised as one of the most prestigious art fairs in the UK outside of London, Glasgow Art Fair will be presenting over 50 selected galleries and art organisations from throughout the UK and overseas, representing a wide range of media from established artists to emerging new talent.

A key date in the cultural calendar, there is no better place to get a taste of the contemporary art scene. Earlier this year the 2008 Glasgow Art Fair saw a diverse range of galleries representing over 1000 artists including works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Joan Eardley, SJ Peploe, Kenny Hunter, Damien Hirst, Tracy Emin, Banksy and Dalziel + Scullion.

With total sales figures exceeding £1.2million and work ranging from under £100 to tens of thousands of pounds, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets at Glasgow Art Fair.

Galleries are now being invited to apply for Glasgow Art Fair 2009. Deadline for applications is 17th November 2008. For more information and further details please contact artfair@uzevents.com. The full list of participating galleries and artists will be announced in January 2009.

Glasgow Art Fair is a Glasgow City Council initiative produced by UZ Events, supported by Culture & Sport Glasgow.

What: Glasgow Art Fair 2009 Glasgow Art Fair is Scotland’s National Art Fair. Now in its 14th year, the Fair presents over 50 selected galleries and arts organisations from across Scotland, the UK and overseas to offer buyers and visitors a wide range of contemporary art under one roof representing work from over 1000 artists across all media. The most established and prestigious fair outwith London, Glasgow Art Fair is the place to buy, sell and view art.
