The success of Tracey Emin at this year's Venice Biennale has sparked her to embark on two new solo shows for next year. The first show will be held at the Scottish National Gallery of modern art. The second show will be held at the White Cube gallery in London.
Her two new shows are concentrating less on her trademark installations and more on paintings. It was Emin’s paintings that sparked off the idea for Andrea Rose (visual arts director at the British Council and commissioner for the British pavilion) to choose her.
The Scottish show will be her first solo exhibition in Scotland. The show is planned to have more than 70 works including borrowed exhibits from collectors and Emin’s own collection.
In 1990 Emin destroyed a large quantity of her paintings, she is now happy with her paintings and believes in her ability to paint.
