“Everyday Joes” Can Afford Art – Michael Corbin

1st July 2009

(AuthorHouse) – The economy is in a slump and many people are strapped for cash, but now is the ideal time to buy art, according to avid art collector and writer Michael K. Corbin, author of the multi award-winning book, The Art of Everyday Joe: A Collector’s Journal (published by AuthorHouse ).

“Given the economy, nearly everyone is negotiating their price on practically everything these days,” says Corbin. “That definitely includes the work of living artists.”

Corbin has built a stunning collection that features emerging artists from all over the world. He did it on an “Everyday Joe” budget. “There’s a huge misconception out there that art is out of the reach of the everyday person,” says Corbin. “But the fact is that living artists are everyday people who are struggling to sell their work and make a living by doing what they love.” “Many living artists create superior work that the average person can indeed afford. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to put yourself at financial risk when buying great art,” he says.
