- Page 3 12. What have you done to promote yourself as an artist? I've tried loads of stuff to promote myself - from phoning to speak to artists and gallery owners, to joining on-line art sites, to setting up my own web-site (www.artbyails.co.uk). I plan to go to paintings on the railings at the botanic gardens in Glasgow in June. I'm currently working like mad to get more paintings finished, and have had business cards printed and Title cards organised. My big hurdle is affording framing costs.

I don't have a lot of spare time for hobbies. I get 3 afternoons a week to paint, while my daughter is in school and my son in nursery, then again once they go to bed. At other times I do whatever needs done at home, and do what's required for my children. I don't really feel the need for any other hobby - if there's any spare time, I use for additional art time. Headline: Controversial current issues storm photography award!
The Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Portfolio Magazine have announced the five winners of the Jerwood Photography Awards 2007: Sophie Gerrard, Edmund Kevill-Davies, Moira Lovell, Kevin Newark, and Dana Popa. The winners each receive awards of £2,500, and their work is shown in a group exhibition at Jerwood Space, Bankside, London. Click here for the rest of the story
