Interview with the artist Gemma Climpson

I am open to developing my style in which ever way it's meant to go. I intend to continue with my travels to inspire me and I believe I will always focus on natural scenes. Different landscape and terrain will inspire different paintings and techniques. For example, I visit Iceland at Easter, which will be a very different landscape to the hot climates I have been painting! I am very excited about seeing the beautiful waterfalls and snow and glaciers and I'm sure the light and shadows will fascinate me!

What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment I am working on 3 very large paintings of 40" x 40". The first is a scene taken in Antigua at sunset and it is very nearly finished. I have decided to go back to using oil paint and am finding this is benefiting my work immensely and it's also given me much more confidence...
